Free teacher web sites for Science topic ‘Physics - Light’
Sources of light, shadows and even information on the human eye can be found in this topic. We know these resources will bring a ray of sunshine to your science lessons!

Which objects create which shadows - a great BBC activity. Also demonstrates how the sun moves through the sky and how this affects the way shadows are formed (click outside for this).

Click on the light sources in these activities from Learn. Teachers watch out though - the moon is (incorrectly) identified as a light source in Part 3 - Circle the Light Source. Sure you can make a 'spot the deliberate error' teaching point out of this otherwise useful activity though!

A virtual demonstration of the differences between Transparent, Translucent and Opaque. You can make a material change its properties so that you can see a ball behind it depending on the transparency setting. There is also a simple animation that shows how the light passes through a transparent material or gets reflected back by an Opaque material.
